When I was young, I often heard my father tell the story of Gao Fengwen's victory over the Japanese team. Gao Fengwen once led the team to compete with the Japanese team for the Olympic spot. In the first round, the Chinese team lost 0:1 at home, but defeated the Japanese team 2:0 at the Tokyo National Arena. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics, there were no U23 restrictions that year, so this is the first time that the Chinese team has been out of Asia by a Chinese coach! Today, Gao Zhi passed away. It is really uncomfortable to see the news. I hope that Gao will go all the way. I hope that the current fans will really remember that our first time out of Asia was done by our own coach!
